Words have power. Their meanings shape the perceptions that frame our beliefs, drive our actions and ultimately create the world in which we live. Their power stems from how we feel when we read, speak, or hear them
Some of us use the same negative words over and over out of habit. But the problem is that the more we hear, read, or utter a word or phrase, the more powerful it becomes over us. This is because the brain uses repetition to learn and look for patterns and consistency as a way to make sense of the world around us, and you probably still know what 5 x 5 is because you've had to repeat your multiplication tables, digging into your memory. We've all experienced having a song stuck in our heads for hours on end, unable to get the melody out of our brains. Repetition is an incredibly powerful tool when it comes to imprinting something on our mind. It is particularly troubling when we think about a phenomenon called the illusion of truth effect, which basically proves that any phrase we read, see, or talk about regularly is perceived to be more accurate than one we encounter only occasionally. If we are not fully aware of what we are showing ourselves, consistency will trump truth every time. Now consider how many times you have falsely described yourself as stupid, clumsy, ugly, or something else — you may begin to understand how your inner dialogue shapes your self-image. Consider these tips for making words work to build a happier, healthier world for you:

Control of self-criticism
Everyone does their best at any given time, including you. Be kind and offer yourself the same compassion and compassion you would for anyone else. Take a break from the negativity
Instead of saying the meal was bad, say "it was better". You basically said what you wanted to say without putting negative energy into your body - you even used a positive word to do so! Reduce your exposure to negative teenage girls
You know the type - friends who never have anything positive to say. Limit the time you spend with them or find better friends. Negative energy has a way of dragging everything around it, like a large black hole. Avoid it when you can. Amplify the positive energy of words
Use your words! Instead of saying, "I had a great time at the concert," reinforce the positive energy by saying you had a great, great, or great time instead. These powerful words sound much better and generate a greater energy response in the body. Surround yourself with positive and uplifting words
Put affirmations on sticky notes around your home and office that say great things about you, your family, or your goals. Wear clothes with positive messages or phrases on them. Imagine the kind of positive energy you will generate for yourself when you wear positivity all day long. As you keep doing these things, you are using the power of repetition in a very effective way to your advantage. You have the power to change your world, and using words consciously is one of the fastest ways to transform the energy you bring into your life.
